Breve Panorama da Ciência da Religião no Brasil
POR UMA ANTROPOLOGIA DAS CRENÇAS DOS PESQUISADORES DE CRENÇAS: A PRODUÇÃO DO CONHECIMENTO ACADÊMICO SOBRE A RELIGIÃO NO BRASIL

RESUMO: Tendo em vista a complexidade da tarefa de analisar fenômenos que o pensamento ocidental usualmente agrupa sob o termo religião, o principal problema a ser tratado neste texto é a respeito da maneira como é produzido no Brasil o conhecimento acadêmico sobre os fenômenos religiosos. Partindo de uma análise sobre como foi constituído o campo disciplinar de estudo sobre a religião no país, realizada a partir de pesquisa bibliográfica, faz-se uma reflexão, em perspectiva interdisciplinar, buscando alternativas para a interpretação não só da religião, como também dos diferentes saberes produzidos sobre ela. No foco dessa análise está o pesquisador de fenômenos que envolvem religião e a sua postura com respeito às crenças (tanto as alheias, quanto as suas). Conclui-se que ainda existem questões sem resposta e que, para solucioná-las, se faz necessária uma maior sensibilidade para com as crenças alheias e a criação de pontes entre saberes. É em direção a esta proposta que o texto é desenvolvido.

ABSTRACT: Given the complexity of the task of analyzing phenomena that Western thought usually groups under the term religion, the main problem to be addressed in this paper is about the way it is produced in Brazil academic knowledge about religion. Starting from an analysis of how the discipline of religion was established in country, held from literature survey, a reflection in dialogue with an interdisciplinary bibliography is held seeking alternatives to the interpretation not only of religion, as also of different knowledge produced about it. The analysis focuses on the researcher of phenomena involving religion and their attitude towards the beliefs (both their as those of others). It is concluded that there are still questions that need answers and, to solve them, it is necessary that the researcher develop a greater sensitivity to the beliefs of others and building bridges between different knowledge. This text is developed towards this proposal.
